Dr. Bhalani is the founder and CEO of Florida Pain Medicine. Dr. Bhalani completed a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency and served as a chief resident at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He then completed a 2 year prestigious interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at University of South Florida as well. During these 2 years, his focus was on fluoroscopically/ultrasound/CT guided interventional pain and spine procedures along with headache medicine, cancer pain, research and much more. He participated in his internship and anesthesiology residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his medical school and undergraduate training from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Bhalani currently serves as clinical associate professor and faculty for the pain medicine fellowship/department of Neurology at the University of South Florida where he continues to teach fellows and residents. Teaching is one of his passions in life. He started his medical career as a hospital employed physician at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and at Tampa Pain Relief Center. He has spent over the last 7 years service his patients in the Zephryhills, Wesley Chapel and Tampa area.

Dr. Bhalani is board certified in Interventional Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Specialties. He has a wide range of experience in treating chronic and refractory pain problems. Always learning, Dr. Bhalani has additional training in vertebroplasty, radiofrequency nerve ablation, percutaneous discectomy, spinal cord or dorsal column stimulator placement, intrathecal pain pump implantation, ultrasound guided nerve blocks, and minimally invasive lumbar decompression to provide his patients with the most advanced treatment options available in pain management. Even today, he continues his learning by participating in multiple annual pain conferences, bringing home to Florida Pain Medicine and his patients, the latest education, treatment options, therapies/modalities, and new interventional pain procedures.

He is a member of several professional societies and national and regional organizations in Pain Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He plans to continue his focus by contribution to medical literature via journals in Pain Medicine and also to conduct clinical trials for the new pain medications and procedures as they arise.

In his spare time, Dr. Bhalani enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching sports (he is a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Orlando Magic, and the Creighton Bluejays), skiing, teaching residents/fellows at the University of South Florida, and trying his hand at golf and other outdoor activities.
